You’ll play a key role in evaluating insurance applications, supporting senior underwriters in making fair and accurate decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and interpreting insurance proposals to help determine policy eligibility and terms.
- Analysing potential risk factors using internal data tools and established underwriting criteria.
- Assisting with drafting policy terms and pricing recommendations under supervision.
- Working directly with brokers and relationship managers to gather further information and explain underwriting decisions.
- Contributing to renewal assessments by evaluating any shifts in insured circumstances.
- Keeping up to speed with developments in underwriting standards, product regulations, and market trends—particularly those impacting operational and personal lines insurance.
What We’re Looking For
- A university degree (2:2 or above) in Business, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field.
- Someone who enjoys evaluating information and applying reasoned judgement.
- Confidence working with both numbers and people—you’re as comfortable reviewing spreadsheets as you are speaking with clients.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases at different stages.
- A clear desire to build a career in insurance underwriting, with evidence of prior interest or early exposure. manage multiple tasks and deadlines with professionalism and accuracy.
- We expect candidates to be actively engaged in ongoing professional learning—this could include working towards a qualification attending industry workshops, courses, or regulatory updates.
